Project Description

In August 2011, Piedmont College began looking for a “live & learn” housing solution to meet their increasing enrollment demands of approximately 40 beds by the Fall of 2012. In order to meet this tight deadline, site selection, site design, building design, permitting and sitework would all have to be completed in January 2012 to allow for 6½ months of building construction. Carroll Campus Development was able to meet the challenge with our unique, pre-developed, pre-designed student housing approach.

From our initial meeting in September 2011, it was clear that a traditional design/bid/build or design/build approach would not deliver a new residence hall in the timeframe allowed. However, CCD was able to provide a solution with up front lump sum pricing that allowed the school to customize our student housing plans to their individual needs and delivered the building by the required deadline – all at a cost below traditional methods. We were delighted to hear in November of 2011 that the Carroll Campus solution was selected and we were chosen to work with Piedmont College on their next housing project.

With our customized, unique approach to on-campus student housing we are able to deliver small scale student housing facilities at large scale unit pricing. Our pre-developed, pre-designed approach eliminates layered fees from multiple parties, removes inefficiencies of repetitive design cost and capitalizes on volume discounting through our corporate purchasing power.
